Key Responsibilities
Perform EKGs correctly and with no errors
Accurately enter patient data into EKG machines and computer system
Prepare procedure/exam room and equipment for procedures
Explain test procedure to patient and monitor vital signs
Prepare patient in hook-up of event monitors and receive telemetry data by phone
Independently perform late potentials
Hook-up holter monitor and scan holter data for physician’s interpretation
Hook up and perform T-wave alternans exercise procedure
Connect and download blood pressure monitoring equipment
Clean, test, and maintain equipment
Respond to requests in a timely manner, establishing appropriate priorities for STAT requests
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Certification as a Cardiovascular Technician (or willing to obtain within 3 months)
Minimum of 1 year of Cardiovascular Tech experience in a Medical Center setting
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technician program
