Services provided include (but are not limited to):

 

  • Assessing patient therapy for appropriateness, incorporating age specific modifications, and clinical interventions to prevent adverse drug events.
  • They will also conduct clinical research and other professional development programs.
  • He/she will serve as a liaison to other departments at the Cancer and Infusion Center by providing operational support and educational services for new treatment regimens.
  • The Staff Pharmacist in Oncology demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the regulations governing the preparation of intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy, and other sterile products and supervises Pharmacy technicians and other support personnel.
  • Provides oversight and participates in maintaining and storing adequate inventory of all medication required for the practice.
  • Develop and update department and nursing policies.
  • Work with the Oncology team to standardize ordering procedures for chemotherapeutic medications.
  • 5+years extensive acute care clinical experience
  • Ability to mix compounds REQUIRED
  • Doctoral of Pharmacy (Pharm D) required
  • Completion of ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology is STRONGLY preferred.
  • Board Certification Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) Certification is required is STRONGLY preferred
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, without direct supervision within established policy.
  • Applicant must be capable of supervising the work of support personnel.
