Key Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance and inspections
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems
  • Identify root cause of basic failures and perform necessary repairs
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints
  • Utilize Shop Management System for documentation
  • Work in accordance with compliance guidelines

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Routine preventative maintenance experience including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational or Technical Certification
  • Two (2) years or more of combination of classroom training and work experience
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
