Description

STV is seeking a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer for our Transportation Group based in Hartford, CT.

This position involves new design, rehabilitation, and field design and inspection for movable bridges.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and writing skills to collaborate with a team of mechanical and electrical engineers on the design and rehabilitation of movable bridge projects in Connecticut or New England.

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure consistency in project quality.
  2. Follow direction from senior staff and supervise junior staff work.
  3. Complete work within budgetary constraints and expectations.
  4. Establish and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with employees, clients, and stakeholders.
  5. Commit to quality and continuous improvement through innovation and creativity.
  6. Develop and review plans, calculations, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
  7. Perform field bridge inspections and travel up to 25% of the time (may be required).

Specific Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of related experience in mechanical design for relevant projects.
  2. Bachelor's degree and a Professional Engineering License in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  3. Technical experience in movable bridge design.
  4. Familiarity with mechanical and electrical codes.
  5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit/MicroStation, and relevant design software.

Compensation Range: $64,848.58 - $86,464.77
