Job Description
Join Cleveland Clinic's SANE unit as a Registered Nurse, providing critical care and support to individuals affected by violence. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in patients' lives through comprehensive clinical assessment, forensic evidence collection, and collaboration with various agencies, all while advancing your professional skills in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide timely and accurate clinical assessment, care, intervention and documentation for patients that have been sexually assaulted or victims of violence.
Perform forensic evidence collection and maintain chain of custody.
Develop safety plans and provide resources for follow-up medical care.
Collaborate with medical staff, law enforcement, and other agencies.
Participate in an on-call schedule and respond to the designated facility within one hour.
Complete clinical experiences as determined by the SANE course.
Perform speculum exams and pediatric assessments under supervision.
Attend continuing education and travel to other facilities as needed.
Provide court testimony as needed.
Participate in community awareness programs and staff meetings.
Required Qualifications
Complete an IAFN approved SANE Adolescent/Adult course within 60 days of hire
Complete an IAFN approved SANE Pediatric course within one year of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)
