Job Description

Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to support efficient patient care through registration, scheduling, and customer service. Your role will be crucial in enhancing health outcomes and ensuring a smooth clinic experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to all customers
  • Greet patients and check them in and out
  • Ensure demographics including insurance information are correct
  • Collect appropriate co-pays and adhere to cash handling policies
  • Schedule appointments and verify visit types
  • Manage waiting room cleanliness and communicate with patients
  • Work with back office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Resolve service issues and complaints

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • CPR certified or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance programs and basic managed care principles
  • Experience working with an electronic health record
  • Medical office setting experience
  • Knowledge/understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Independent means of transportation during work hours for job-related tasks
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English
