Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a School Psychologist with early childhood assessment experience and a valid PEL license for an in-person, full-time assignment covering an FMLA leave.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in a school setting serving Pre-K/Early Childhood students
- Full-time, in-person Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm with a 30-minute duty-free lunch
- Role covers the duration of an FMLA leave from August 11, 2025 to December 1, 2025
- Responsibilities include leading weekly child find team meetings, participating in MTSS, and screening 40-50 students using Play-Based Assessment
- Expected to complete 10-15 full case studies during the assignment
- Responsible for screening, assessment, and case studies of students transitioning from early intervention programs
- Leads weekly meetings to review screening information and participates in classroom-related referrals
- Will address new domains and participate in MTSS as needed
- Fingerprints and background check required prior to start
- The team may include other child find professionals and educators
Requirements
- Active School Psychologist credential and PEL license from ISBE required
- Experience with Linder’s Play-Based Assessment
- Proven ability to work with young children and strong understanding of child development
- Must be in-state and compliant prior to start for fingerprinting and results must be on file
- Resume required for consideration
- License required if applicable
