Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Medical Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in patient care, supporting providers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Your responsibilities will include patient intake, administering injections, and maintaining compliance with health standards, all while ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from exam rooms and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam rooms between patients
Prepare syringes and administer injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare pathology and lab specimens for routing
Respond to patient questions in office and via phone
Schedule or re-schedule appointments
Work in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures
Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
Completion of a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant program
At least one (1) year of medical assisting experience (preferred)
Professionalism and strong customer service skills
Ability to communicate clearly with doctors, patients, and co-workers
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds and stand for prolonged periods
