JOB TITLE: National Application Specialist
REPORTS TO: Manager Diagnostic Service
Job Type: Full-time. 8:30am – 5:00pm EST when in office
SUMMARY: ALCOR Scientific is a leader in innovative products for the medical device industry. We are in Smithfield, RI and are currently looking for a full-time National Application Specialist for a combination of inside/outside application and technical service activities. This position is primarily responsible for installing, training and troubleshooting Alcor Scientific diagnostic products to hospitals and clinical laboratories by performing the following duties:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Travel to customer sites nationwide to install and validate ESR hematology analyzer systems
•Provide technical product support over the phone and via email to ensure customer uptime and satisfaction
•Identify and document product failures; issue RMA’s as required
•Conduct comprehensive training programs for laboratory personnel on proper instrument operation
•Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and laboratory accreditation standards
•Provide ongoing technical support during implementation phases
•Complete all required administrative functions relating to business or regulatory requirements as assigned
•Ensure accurate communication and/or documentation for product complaints per SOP
•Exercise excellent judgment setting priorities, critical issues and identifying next steps
•Remain current on equipment/tools through appropriate training, manuals, technical bulletins and other relevant materials
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Willing and able to travel up to ~60% of the time and be in Smithfield, RI office ~40% of the time
•Preferred associate or bachelor’s degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
•Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical laboratory hematology or technical service
•Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based process
•Proficient level of computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
•Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner
•Resourceful, with the ability to work independently with strong time management skills
•Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills; Ability to adapt to changing circumstances
