Job Description
Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator where you'll serve as a vital first point of contact for patients. You'll ensure accurate registration and facilitate quality patient care, all while working in a diverse and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities
Maintain knowledge of registration requirements across various units
Ensure accurate and timely entry of demographic information
Properly identify patients to avoid duplication of medical records
Verify insurance benefits and document in the system
Collect and enter required data with emphasis on accuracy
Obtain required signatures and documentation from patients
Address payment plans and patient financial responsibilities
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
1+ years of customer service experience
1+ years of experience with requesting and processing financial payments
Beginner level of proficiency working with computers/data entry
Ability to work from 6:00pm – 4:30am, Thursday - Sunday
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle related roles
General understanding of insurance policies and procedures
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Able to perform basic mathematics for payment calculation
