Key Responsibilities
Collaborating closely with classroom teachers to cultivate a supportive learning environment
Implementing individualized instruction and behavioral interventions
Instructing and monitoring students during classroom lessons
Encouraging individual student growth and tracking progress
Managing student behavior and applying consistent disciplinary measures
Supporting students facing academic challenges
Completing documentation of student behaviors and performance
Communicating proactively with students, colleagues, and families
Participating in assurance and accreditation activities
Responding constructively to feedback
Performing additional responsibilities as needed
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Passage of basic skills test
Prior experience working with children, preferably in a special education or behavioral health program setting
Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency
Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students
Solid motivational skills and willingness to be flexible
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an education aide permit
Highly skilled in working with individuals with severe learning disabilities, behavioral disorders and/or emotional disturbance
Advanced oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of relevant technology including instructional technology
