As a Patient Access Representative Associate at Optum, you will greet patients, collect essential information, and assist with their healthcare journey. Your role is crucial in connecting patients with the care and resources they need, enhancing overall health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Greets and welcomes patients in person
Collects demographic and insurance information
Checks in and interviews patients to complete paperwork
Directs patients to their appointments or procedures
Documents issues and resolutions in electronic medical record
Resolves claim issues or registration errors on patient accounts
Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits information
Obtains cost information and explains it to patients
Collects co-pays or deductibles and responds to questions regarding financial assistance
Screens and approves patients for financial assistance programs
Provides customer service for inbound and outbound calls
Required Qualifications
6+ months of customer service experience in healthcare or similar settings
Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Ability to work standard daytime hours, Monday - Friday for the first 3 weeks
Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday starting between 5:00am – 9:00am
Ability to work every other weekend
Must be 18 years of age or older
