Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate resident care with other departments
• Communicate changes in resident’s condition
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical documents
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required
• Complete accident/incident reports
• Evaluate adequate supplies are available
• Ensure resident abuse does not occur
• Provide treatments and care to medically complex residents
• Attend care plan meetings
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
• Respond to all resident call lights
• Coordinate with outside agencies
• Assist with training supervision for nursing personnel
• Make rounds to evaluate quality of care
• Respond to resident and family grievances
• Maintain confidentiality and rights of resident information
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
