Job Description

Join Wellspring Nurse Source as a Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist and support physicians in performing minimally invasive procedures while ensuring patient safety and high-quality care. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the interventional radiology suite by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and imaging equipment
  • Assist physicians during interventional procedures, including angioplasty, stent placement, embolization, biopsies, and drain insertions
  • Operate fluoroscopy, CT, or ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images for accurate procedure guidance
  • Administer contrast media as directed and monitor patients for potential adverse reactions
  • Monitor and document patient vitals, procedural details, and imaging data throughout the procedure
  • Assist in patient positioning, ensuring comfort and proper alignment for imaging and procedural accuracy
  • Maintain and troubleshoot interventional radiology equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Follow strict infection control and radiation safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Provide patient education and emotional support before, during, and after procedures
  • Participate in post-procedural care by assisting with dressing changes, patient transfers, and documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members to ensure the highest standards of care
  • Stay updated on new interventional radiology techniques, procedures, and equipment through continuing education

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced certification in Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) or Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI)
  • Previous experience in a cath lab, radiology department, or interventional radiology setting
