Reporting to the Chief Procurement & Materials Management, this position is responsible for the Materials Management functions of LUMA. Through effective leadership and development of a large team, the role manages the design and implementation of long-term strategies to ensure material availability for all LUMA work areas. The role requires strong leadership & collaboration, extensive supply chain experience in an electrical utility, and the ability to translate broad organizational goals into executable plans.

Job Description:

• Hold business planning sessions with key stakeholders within LUMA – Engineering, Asset Management, Work Planning, and all Operations functions to understand upcoming business requirements, complete demand & resource planning exercises, and build aggregated demand forecasts that translate into long-term procurement strategies.
• Translate business requirements into annual strategies, action plans, and goals for each functional area within Materials Management
• Monitor and measure performance and progress towards developed plans and goals for all direct reports.
• Lead direct reports through immediate feedback & coaching, development plans, and assignment of stretch goals & projects.
• Maintain an awareness of economic, political, and environmental conditions that could adversely affect LUMA’s Supply Chain effectiveness and implement mitigation plans.
• Accountable for relationships with key stakeholders to the Materials Management area of responsibility – Supplier partners, government agencies, and transportation partners - ensure an awareness of conditions that could affect LUMA’s ability to deliver.
• Develop and maintain an organizational structure that leads to a high-performance workforce through measured objectives and performance assessment and meets LUMAs short term goals and long-term business plans.
• Oversee the development of strategic succession and organizational plans for the Materials Management functional area.
• Accountable for the budgeting, planning, and operational activities within the Materials Management organization
• Ensure Materials Management functions are complying with all Federal and Puerto Rico regulations and comply with all internal/external audits.
• Oversee the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Plans within the Materials Management area.
• Possess excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Assertive and ability to deal with difficult and demanding customers.
• Possesses strong business knowledge in the utility and regulated environment.
• Proven leadership experience applying sound judgement to make decisions.
• Proven ability to manage and resolve conflict.
• Participates in major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.
• Working with the Emergency Response functions of LUMA, lead the development of contingency plans, strategic supplier relationships, and tactical action plans to ensure emergency readiness within the Materials Management area.
• Comply with all LUMA policies and procedures.

Educational:

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree Business/Supply Chain Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:

• SCMP/Plog/PMP/APICS designations an asset

Experience:

• Minimum 10 Years of experience in progressive roles in supply chain, with a minimum of 7 in a leadership role(s)
• 7+ years’ experience working in a utility environment.
• Experience working in a projectized environment.
• Experience leading large (100+) teams
• Valid Driver’s License
