Integrated Air & Missile Defense Systems (IAMDS) department is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer with technical expertise and systems engineering skills to design and support System of Systems (SoS) in an agile, model-based development environment. IAMDS leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support the Raytheon Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) mission area from our Tewksbury, MA location. The IAMDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world’s toughest challenges.
This position is onsite in Tewksbury, MA
What You will Do:
You will be responsible for concept and requirements development, including decomposition and flow-down
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining system design and requirements documents including
Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
System/Subsystem Design Documents (SSDD)
System/Software Requirements (SRD/SRS)
Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
Communicate with cross-discipline engineering teams to coordinate system design plans and software/hardware/network requirements
Provide Engineering sustainment support to fielded tactical C5I systems
Manage technical risks by evaluating design options
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence (C4I) systems
Experience with System Engineering processes, tools, and development lifecycle
Active/Existing security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience in Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo Enterprise Architecture tool
Ability to take ownership of tasks and lead technical efforts spanning multiple engineering disciplines and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and our programs’ customers
Analytic, technical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning
Experience with design of system level architecture
Excellent communications skills, verbal and written, with technical, customer and senior leadership audiences
Familiarity with MATLAB, DOORS, and MS Office
