Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian to support a dedicated team providing veterinary care to underserved communities. Lead, mentor, and deliver high-quality care while making a direct impact on animal welfare and client experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and other medical protocols
Support a positive work culture of respect, belonging, and teamwork
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and surgical procedures
Provide quality preventive and basic care to patients
Guide team members in handling patients in a low-stress manner
Deliver annual performance reviews and manage team performance
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
