  • Patient Ratio: 1:4 (may flex to 1:5)
  • Scrubs: Any color (not provided)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (OB/L&D)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Washington RN license preferred
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
  • AWHONN Intermediate certification
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR
  • Experience managing patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
  • References: 2 years in specialty required
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers, newborns, and postpartum patients
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the OB/L&D unit
  • Perform newborn assessments and provide education to new mothers
  • Assist with vaginal deliveries and manage LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) patients
  • Start and maintain IVs, administer vaccines, and follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, and Pharmacy
  • Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
  • Float to postpartum unit as needed
  • Participate in block scheduling, including some weekends
