Job Title: RN – Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Schedule: 3x12 Hour Shifts | 36 Hours/Week
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients with cardiac and post-surgical needs.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products as prescribed.
- Monitor vital signs and recognize early signs of complications, initiating interventions promptly.
- Assist physicians during procedures and perform advanced clinical tasks.
- Educate and support patients’ families throughout treatment and discharge planning.
- Document all patient interactions and care activities accurately.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and best nursing practices.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Skills & Experience - Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience , preferably in a critical care or pediatric ICU setting.
- Strong understanding of professional nursing theories, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent organizational, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and families.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications.
Education & Licensure - Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
- Licensure: Active Oklahoma RN License or Compact State RN License (eNLC) .
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association
