Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient diagnosis and treatment
  • Conduct hearing exams to identify and diagnose hearing loss, balance disorders, and related issues
  • Analyze and interpret test results to determine the type and severity of hearing loss
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
  • Device management: fit, dispense, and program hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other assistive listening devices
  • Provide training and counseling on how to use these devices effectively
  • Perform follow-up evaluations to ensure devices are working correctly
  • Counsel patients and their families on managing hearing loss and communication strategies
  • Address the psychological effects of hearing damage
  • Develop and implement hearing conservation and hearing loss prevention programs
  • Educate the public and specific populations about hearing health
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to advance the understanding of hearing and balance disorders

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program
  • Audiology license in IL
