The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Inpatient Adolescent Psychiatric Unit provides compassionate, evidence-based care to adolescents experiencing acute behavioral health challenges. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team is essential to promote stabilization and recovery for each patient.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to adolescent patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and behavioral changes.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Participate in crisis prevention, de-escalation, and intervention as required to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and facility standards for behavioral health nursing.

Requirements

• Current RN license (in good standing) in the applicable state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Active certification in one of the following is required:
  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
  • MANDT
  • TEAM
