The Senior Director of Behavior at ARC & CARE leads a dedicated team in providing exceptional care for animals recovering from cruelty and neglect. This pivotal role involves overseeing behavioral health, conducting research, and ensuring a holistic approach to animal welfare, all while fostering a collaborative environment among professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for ARC and CARE animals
Ensure high quality, low stress patient and population care
Manage and coach behavior team leaders
Lead research projects to advance animal behavior and welfare
Collaborate with various teams to enhance animal care
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in people management
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Maintain open mind regarding changes and willingness to learn new protocols
Comfortable with humane euthanasia decisions
Fear Free certified within 6 months of hire
Able to work additional hours, weekends, and respond to after-hours concerns
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing/overseeing research projects
Interest in writing scientific publications for peer-reviewed journals
