Job Description

Join USAA as the Director of Property Claims Services and lead a dedicated team to enhance member service and operational effectiveness. This role offers the opportunity to drive process improvements and empower employees in a fulfilling work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and review quality of claim files and provide feedback to employees
  • Ongoing coaching and driving awareness for employees
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness and member experiences
  • Build conditions for success and lead organizational changes
  • Achieve optimal productivity through workload management and staffing
  • Monitor work to ensure consistent execution of processes
  • Handle escalations and make decisions based on policy
  • Facilitate skill identification and career progression for employees
  • Hire, develop, and coach claims employees for results delivery
  • Consistently coach employees on claims handling

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of related experience
  • 6 years of progressive customer service, operational, military or leadership experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of claims handling experience
  • 2 years of direct team lead, supervisory or management experience
  • Experience using and interpreting data to make decisions
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, customer service and/or claims handling skills
  • Acquisition and maintenance of applicable insurance adjuster license within 6 months

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of recent or current claims leadership
  • 5 years of property claims experience handling moderate severity Homeowners or Dwelling claims
  • Ability to work West Coast time zone and closing shift during daylight savings
  • Residential construction experience
  • Knowledge of Xactimate, XactAnalysis and XactContents
  • Knowledge of property claims contracts and interpretation of case law
  • Experience handling catastrophe claims
  • CPCU or other insurance industry designation
