Job Title: Lead Teacher Elementary I & II
Location: Athens Montessori School, Athens, GA
Position Type: Full-Time

Athens Montessori School is a non-profit, well-established, child-centered educational community that has served the Athens area for over 47 years. We are dedicated to nurturing each child s natural curiosity and love of learning through the principles and practices of Montessori education.
Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate, dedicated Lead Teachers for both our Elementary I (grades 1 3) and Elementary II (grades 4 6) classrooms. The ideal candidate will bring a deep respect for children, a commitment to the Montessori method, and a high level of professionalism and flexibility to their role in guiding and supporting our students.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain a developmentally appropriate Montessori environment
- Guide students in academic, social, and emotional development in alignment with Montessori principles
- Collaborate with staff and parents to support student growth and success
- Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress
- Model and foster a culture of respect, responsibility, professionalism, and adaptability in the classroom
Preferred Qualifications:
- AMI, AMS, or MACTE-accredited Montessori Certification for the appropriate age group
- Bachelor s degree (required) in Education or related field
- Classroom teaching experience, preferably in a Montessori setting
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated professionalism and flexibility in all interactions and responsibilities
