Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s CVC
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
  • Support a positive work culture through recognition and developmental coaching
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-volume surgical procedures
  • Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
  • Participate in monthly veterinary medicine rounds and meetings

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience strongly preferred
