🩺 Labor & Delivery RN 📍 Rural OB Unit | 6 LDRP Beds | 12-Hour Shifts | No Call Required 🏥 Facility & Unit Overview Department: Labor & Delivery (LDRP Model) Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Annual Births: ~220/year (~17/month) Beds: 6 LDRP beds 0 Triage beds 0 Postpartum beds (postpartum care happens in LDRP) C-Sections: Performed in Main OR (no in-unit OR); RN does NOT need to circulate or recover Nursery: "Well Baby" with capabilities for: IV antibiotics, IV dextrose Feeders/growers, bili babies 👩‍⚕️ Staffing & Support Staff per shift: Only 2 RNs Charge Nurse: No dedicated charge; House Supervisor available 24/7 (NRP trained) Techs/Aides: None OB Providers & Anesthesia: In-house M–F (day) On-call after hours/weekends/holidays Monitoring: Spacelab monitors RNs not responsible for reading strips EFM System: OBIX 🧠 Required Skills & Experience Minimum: 1 year recent OB experience Must be confident in: Labor & delivery Postpartum care Mom/baby couplets Well baby nursery Caring for post-surgical patients (post-appendectomy, post-cholecystectomy, etc.) Preferred: Med-Surg background (for occasional floating) Drips: Must titrate Oxytocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Insulin ✅ Certifications Required: BLS ACLS NRP AWHONN EFM (Intermediate preferred) Preferred: STABLE 📅 Schedule & Requirements Shifts: 12-Hour – 07:00–19:30 or 19:00–07:30 Schedule: Manager-scheduled Requests/block scheduling may be accommodated Schedule posted 2 months out (in 4-week blocks) Weekend: Every 3rd weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) Holidays: Every 3rd holiday Call/Standby: None Floating: To Med-Surg as helping hands if OB is closed May care for post-surgicals on OB unit
