Join MedSTAR Transport as an ALS Paramedic and play a crucial role in providing essential medical care during interfacility ambulance transport, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operates the ground ambulance obeying all driving laws
Conducts inspection of the assigned ambulance at the beginning of each shift
Provides feedback and participates in program safety initiatives
Adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards
Ensures cleanliness and appropriate par levels of supplies in transport vehicle(s)
Establishes and maintains professional radio communications
Initiates department standing orders in appropriate patients
Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families
Participates in MedSTAR Transport safety program and community outreach efforts
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Successful completion of an approved EMT course
Completion of an approved emergency vehicle driving course
NREMT - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Basic (EMT-B)
EMT - Emergency Medical Tech in the District of Columbia within 30 Days
EMT - Emergency Medical Tech in Maryland
MedSTAR Transport or Mid Atlantic Air Transportation Services affiliation as an EMT
CPR certification for healthcare providers
FEMA ICS 100 Course
FEMA ICS 200 Course
Valid State Driver's License in good standing
Preferred Qualifications
1-2 years EMT experience
