Key Responsibilities
Generate an estimate of charges upon request for hospital inpatient only
Review demographics and insurance information with the patient
Collect and enter patient's liability of payment
Answer financial assistance calls
Utilize work queues daily
Communicate effectively with the team and report collections
Provide financial assistance and counseling information
Identify opportunities to improve processes
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
2+ years of customer service experience in a hospital or physician office setting
2+ years of experience working with hospital billing and insurance
2+ years of EMR (Epic) experience
Ability to work normal business hours of 8:00am – 4:30pm
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of healthcare collections experience
Experience with Microsoft Office products
Experience in a Hospital Patient Registration Department or any medical setting
Experience in insurance reimbursement and financial verification
Experience in requesting and processing financial payments
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Understanding of insurance policies and procedures
Ability to perform basic mathematics for financial payments
