PCU RN Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), step-down, or acute care setting
• Strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team

PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients’ mental, physical, and spiritual needs in the Progressive Care Unit
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Educate patients and families by providing clear explanations and instructions
• Utilize clinical judgment to recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition
• Maintain accurate and complete electronic medical records
• Promote a positive healthcare workplace culture through professional communication and conflict resolution
