Key Responsibilities
Planning, laying out, fabricating, assembling, repairing, and maintaining tools
Troubleshooting production challenges and developing plans to resolve issues
Reading and interpreting specifications and drawings for tool fabrication
Using shop metrology equipment to reverse engineer components
Fabricating and building various types of tooling with dies
Inspecting tools for quality and compliance with specifications
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in repairing, maintaining, construction, and/or inspection of tools, dies, jigs, powerfeed
5+ years of experience in machine shop processes, geometric dimensioning & tolerances
2+ years of experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
2+ years of experience using a complete set of toolmaker shop equipment (milling, lathe, precision, grinding, polishing, and fitting)
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Tool & Die Maker
Completed an approved Mold Maker or Tool and Die Maker state apprenticeship program
Ability to maintain close and exacting tolerances and finish requirements
Capable of creating a repeatable setup and working to tolerances of +/-.0002"
Possesses 4 and 5 axis CNC skills for mill or lathe
Ability to reverse engineer and manufacture mold components within time limitations
Ability to read and write G and M code with CAM programming experience
