Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you will lead a dynamic team to provide essential veterinary care in underserved communities. You'll deliver high-quality, compassionate treatment while supporting the professional growth of your colleagues, ensuring optimal care for pets and their owners.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s CVC
Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and other medical protocols
Support a positive work culture through regular feedback and performance evaluations
Perform pre-surgery examinations and high-quality spay/neuter procedures
Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
Participate in medical consultations and support internal ASPCA departments
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification within 60 days of hire
