Join Grainger's team as a Maintenance Mechanic, where you'll be the expert on automated material handling and building systems. Your role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading essential systems to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Be the primary responder for system issues involving automated material handling
Assist with infrastructure upgrades and modifications/repairs
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system components
Work with teams to resolve problems and propose solutions
Perform audits and quality checks on equipment and systems
Provide diagnosis analyses on building equipment and performance
Required Qualifications
Technical degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of building and equipment maintenance experience
Two years maintaining automated material handling systems
Complete technical training in electronic controls, power distribution, and PLC troubleshooting
Experience using electrical test equipment, hand tools, power tools
Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and schematics
Understanding of codes such as NEC, BOCA, UBC, MSDS, and OSHA
Preferred Qualifications
Technical skills to become subject matter expert for automated material handling systems
Experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley)
Understanding of power distribution and control circuits
Experience with thermal imaging equipment
Experience with AC drives (set-up, programming, faults)
