Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Medical Assistant, where you'll provide essential support to patients and healthcare providers in a collaborative environment. Your role will include patient intake, administering injections, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards while fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam room between patients
Prepare syringes and administer injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare and route pathology and lab specimens
Respond to patient questions in-office and via phone
Schedule or reschedule appointments
Comply with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures as needed
Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
At least one year of medical assisting experience
Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service skills
Clear and concise communication with doctors and patients
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
