Job Description
Join Amazon Data Services as an Engineering Operations Technician and be at the forefront of maintaining critical electrical and mechanical systems in our data centers. Collaborate with a diverse team to ensure high standards of safety and security while providing exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center
Troubleshoot facility equipment and rack-level events
Perform limited maintenance tasks including filter changes and rack power installs
Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians
Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
Write procedures and manage building workflows
Supervise contractors and respond to emergency calls
Required Qualifications
3+ years of maintenance experience on mechanical or electrical equipment
Experience operating electrical or mechanical systems in a mission critical environment
Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
Familiar with building management systems (BMS/EPMS)
4+ years of Data Center Engineering Experience
Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment
Operating engineering license(s) such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent
Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License, or CFC license (Universal or minimum Type II), or NFPA 70E Certification
