Key Responsibilities
Ensures proper patient identification and order verification
Performs exams per department protocol
Understands cross-sectional anatomy and demonstrates anatomical positioning competency
Follows radiation safety protocol as per ALARA program
Critiques own films and completes studies within acceptable time limitations
Administers contrast material to patients under supervision
Practices infection control and sterile techniques
Provides patient education and comfort
Operates CT equipment and related information systems
Completes all required documentation accurately
Maintains current QC program and reports equipment failures
Required Qualifications
Radiography Certification/Registration (ARRT)
Relevant State licensure (where required)
Demonstrated CT proficiency
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (healthcare)
Post-hire expectation: Meets departmental IV certification competency within three months of hire
Post-hire expectation: Must complete the controlled substance module within six months of hire (where applicable)
Post-hire expectation: Must complete the initial moderate sedation module within six months of hire (where applicable)
