Key Responsibilities
Greets and welcomes patients in person
Collects demographic and insurance information
Checks in and interviews patients to complete appropriate paperwork
Directs patients to their appointment or procedure
May assist in scheduling add-on appointments
Documents issues and resolutions in electronic medical records
Resolves claim issues or registration errors on patient accounts
Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits information for payers
Explains cost information to patients as necessary
Collects co-pay or deductibles and responds to questions regarding financial assistance programs
Screens and approves patients for financial assistance programs
Assists and counsels patients with the application process for financial assistance
Provides technical or functional direction for employees
Assists patients in completing requests for information forms
Obtains signatures from patients as needed
Gathers medical record information from all departments
Provides customer service for inbound and outbound telephone calls
May mentor other staff as needed
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
6+ months of customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, food service, bank/office settings, call center, or other customer-facing settings
Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Ability to work standard daytime hours for the first 3 weeks after hire
Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday from 2:30pm – 11:30pm
Ability to work every other weekend
Must be 18 years of age or older
