Job Description
Join Dell Medical School as an Advanced Practice Provider in Congenital Heart Surgery, where you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating pediatric heart conditions. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care and education to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Counsels and educates congenital heart surgery patients and their families/caregivers concerning health conditions, treatment options, and community resources
Documents delivery of cardiac critical health care and nursing processes in accordance with care standards and network nursing policy
Participates in orientation and education of staff and students
Obtains congenital heart surgery patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination
Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies for congenital heart surgery patients
Provides direct treatment and management of congenital heart conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources
Required Qualifications
Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality
Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
