Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week after breaks
• Required to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Must be available for quick phone interview
• Scrubs will be provided by facility
• EMR system: EPIC
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Must be able to scrub and circulate
• Provide 1:1 patient care before, during, and after surgery
• Handle various surgical cases including General surgery, Orthopedics, Vascular, ENT, Ophthalmology, Urology, Endoscopy, and GYN
• Provide direct patient care to neonate through geriatric populations
• Perform pre-op and post-op patient care addressing psychosocial, physical and general aspects of surgical care
• Demonstrate knowledge of anesthetic drugs, actions and side effects
• Handle arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, spinal and epidural catheters with appropriate documentation
• Perform and document all surgical counts per standards and procedures
• Properly handle, document, and label all surgical specimens and cultures
• Operate mechanical, electrical, and powered equipment according to manufacturer's instructions
• Maintain surgical standards, universal precautions, and departmental procedures
• Current New York State RN license required
• Two or more years of OR experience preferred
