Job Description
Join Optum as a Cardiac Sonographer to provide vital support to the Cardiology Department. You will perform echocardiography procedures, educate patients, and ensure efficient operations while contributing to improving healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
Performs 2D, M-Mode Doppler, and exercise stress echocardiography as directed by physicians
Provides Patient Centered Care through patient education and timely test results
Compiles timely reports for Cardiologist analysis and interpretation
Maintains echocardiography equipment and orders supplies
Completes preliminary report forms for cardiovascular reporting system
Follows infection control procedures
Attends required meetings and participates in professional development
Facilitates and maintains interdepartmental professionalism and communication
Required Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
Completion of a formal accredited Ultrasound training program
Meets the requirements for registry by ARDMS in adult Echo and Stress Echo
Registry with ARDMS in Adult Echocardiography within one year of employment if not registered
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound
2+ years of cardiac scanning experience with adult patients
