Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll support and lead a dedicated team in providing exceptional veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll combine your clinical skills with leadership to enhance the well-being of animals and enrich client experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture of respect, belonging and teamwork
Guide direct reports to write and fulfill annual goals
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality surgical procedures
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
