Job Description

Join Kaiser Permanente as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist II, where you'll play a critical role in patient care by preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies. Your expertise will ensure optimal diagnostic quality and safety in imaging processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras
  • Prepare stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses
  • Measure radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors
  • Calibrate equipment
  • Follow radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials
  • Direct and check the work of other Nuclear Medicine Technologists
  • Perform other related duties as necessary

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years continuous recent experience in nuclear medicine
  • Ability to perform all procedures and processes as determined by the employer
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Willingness to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Nuclear Medicine Technologist OR Medical Lab Technician Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificate
  • Nuclear Medical Technologist Certificate (California)
  • Basic Life Support certification
