QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SOFTWARE ENGINEER/SIMULATION to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.
Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying high-performance software solutions in support of complex simulation environments. Candidates must be collaborative, self-driven, and capable of working effectively in cross-functional teams.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
- Design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy software following structured SDLC processes
- Support and enhance modeling and simulation capabilities for mission-critical systems
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in C++, and one or more of the following scripting languages: C, GoLang, Ada, or Python
- Collaborate closely with other systems engineers, hardware designers, and test teams to define software requirements and integrate solutions
- Utilize and manage development tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Crucible, and Fortify in a CI/CD environment
- Communicate project status, technical findings, and software demonstrations to stakeholders through verbal presentations and written documentation
Minimum Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Science with at least 2 years of experience
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - software design requirements, application development, integration, testing, and deployment
- Demonstrated experience in Modeling and Simulation
- Demonstrated experience with C++
- Experience with at least one of the following programming or scripting languages: C, GoLang, Ada, and/or Python
- Experience with two or more of the following tools: Jira, Crucible, Bitbucket, Subversion, Bamboo, Jenkins, Sonarqube, Fortify, or Coverity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
- Self-motivated and customer-oriented
Desired Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Strong understanding of C and C++ languages including templates, memory storage, and compiler/linker
- Experience with SQL Database or JSON Database
- Experience with simulated threat environments such as AFSIM or GMDSIM
- Ability to collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers and integration/test engineers to develop and maintain complex software systems
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
- Security + certification
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
