Requirements:
Current RN license
BLS certification
Minimum 1 year psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience
Experience in inpatient substance abuse treatment preferred
Ability to perform CIWA, COWS, and urine drug screens (UAs)
Strong ability to set and maintain firm yet empathetic boundaries with patients
Unit/Role Details:
Inpatient substance abuse treatment facility for adults 18+
Provides nursing care for patients in a structured therapeutic environment
Administers assessments, monitors patient progress, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team
Job Summary:
The Travel Psych RN provides comprehensive psychiatric care in an inpatient substance abuse setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment, monitoring withdrawal symptoms, administering medications, performing UAs, and supporting the therapeutic program while maintaining professional boundaries and patient safety.
