The Director of Operations will oversee the agency's real estate portfolio in New York City, ensuring efficient and safe property operations. This role involves managing teams, collaborating with contractors, and enforcing life safety standards, all while driving accountability and continuous improvement within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations for agency properties across five NYC boroughs
Manage and mentor area managers and handymen teams
Ensure timely resolution of sysaid tickets and maintain service levels
Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing contractors for complex issues
Ensure compliance with life safety standards and local regulations
Develop performance metrics to assess operational effectiveness
Identify areas for operational enhancements through data analysis
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years working as a tradesperson, preferably in mechanical, plumbing, or electrical fields
At least 5 years of managerial experience overseeing teams or operations
Verifiable experience with technical building systems
Understanding of maintenance operations, vendor management, and work order tracking
Fluency in English
Valid driver's license
OSHA 30 certification within 6 months of employment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a hybrid role with field and office responsibilities
Familiarity with life safety system requirements and contract management
Ability to develop and analyze performance metrics
Prior experience managing large real estate portfolios
