Key Responsibilities
Perform admission history and physicals
Evaluate health condition of patients before surgery
Assist surgeons in the OR with first assist surgical duties
Monitor patient transport to CVICU or PICU
Conduct daily hospital rounds and write orders and progress notes
See patients on assigned clinic days and prepare therapeutic plans
Advocate for the needs of children and families
Required Qualifications
Clinical Master’s Degree as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with RNFA certification
5 years minimum experience in Cardiovascular Surgery as a First Assist
Current Florida State Licensure as a Physician Assistant
Current BLS and PALS certification
Current National Certification as a Physician Assistant
Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery within three years of hire
