Join Interstate Waste Services as a Diesel Mechanic Class A and leverage your skills in a dynamic environment. You'll perform crucial maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty diesel vehicles, ensuring safety and efficiency while contributing to a progressive waste service provider.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspection, diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment
Utilize diagnostic software to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs
Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards
Assist with emergency breakdowns when on call
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience working as a heavy-duty Diesel Mechanic
Valid driver’s license
Experience working on heavy duty diesel equipment or training from a recognized trade school
Ability to speak and read English well enough to converse with colleagues and drivers
Preferred Qualifications
Hydraulics experience
Experience with diagnostic software such as Premium Tech Tool (Mack), Allison transmission, Cummins, Peterbilt, and Paccar
Experience troubleshooting/repairing DPF systems
Yellow Iron experience or experience as a Mechanic or Technician for a refuge company
Working knowledge of applicable DOT and OSHA standards and regulations
