As a part-time Linguist with the United States Army, you will train at the Defense Language Institute, learning a foreign language and immersing yourself in its culture. You'll also receive training that can lead to a rewarding career in intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
Train at the Defense Language Institute (DLI)
Learn to speak, listen, and read in target language
Immerse in the culture of the target language's region
Attend 35M or 35P Advanced Individual Training based on assessment
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizen
Age: 17-34 years
High School Diploma or GED
Must meet tattoo guidelines
No major law violations
No significant medical concerns
Preferred Qualifications
85 or above on the Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB)
101 ASVAB Score: Skilled Technical (ST) (can bypass DLAB with ST score of 129 or above)
