Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Colebrook, New Hampshire.

Position: Registered Nurse – Low-Level ICU
Shift: 12-Hour Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks (91 days)

Unit & Facility Details:

  • Unit Type: Low-Level ICU
  • Number of Beds: 12
  • Patient Types: CHF, COPD, pneumonia, cardiac arrhythmias, sepsis
    • Most surgical patients are transferred out (surgeon available 2 days/week)
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4–6
  • Tele Monitoring: Central monitors with tele packs
    • No telemetry techs – nurses must read and interpret strips
  • IV Team: No – strong IV skills required
    • Provider places PICC lines during the day
  • Respiratory Therapy: Not in-house – nurses manage BiPAP and treatments
  • Pharmacy: On-site until 3 PM; tele-pharmacy after hours
    • Nurses may need to mix meds if ordered after hours
  • Charge RN: Yes; does not typically take a patient load
  • Float Requirement: Yes, within the facility based on need
  • Orientation: 1 shift with a preceptor
  • Scrubs: Any color, must be professional

Scheduling:

  • Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (may vary with needs)
  • Holiday Requirement: Rotates with perm staff
  • Flexibility and strong teamwork are essential

Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Required)
  • ACLS (Required)
  • PALS (Preferred)

Experience & Skills:

  • Strong IV skills required
  • Must be able to titrate drips (common: heparin, nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin)
  • No ventilator management on inpatient unit
  • Experience in low-acuity ICU or telemetry settings preferred
  • Must be flexible, a team player, and willing to help across departments
