Key Responsibilities
Respond to social needs and issues in the Emergency Department
Complete biopsychosocial assessments and specialized trauma assessments
Provide trauma-informed, strengths-based interventions
Screen and assess patients for needs regarding social determinants of health
Provide case management and advocacy
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and community providers
Provide brief, solution-focused interventions and develop safety plans
Use motivational interviewing and trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral treatment
Provide crisis intervention and problem-solving support
Provide information, referrals, and counseling for various needs
Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and team members
Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work
LCSW in the state of MA
Preferred Qualifications
LICSW in the state of MA
Previous medical social work experience
Strong clinical skills and experience with various therapeutic modalities
Cultural sensitivity and comfort with diverse populations
