JOB SUMMARY: Schedules cases proficiently into Paragon Resource Scheduling utilizing appropriate Resources and according to Departmental Policies.   Documents appointment detail to communicate case specific information.  Accurately selects patients from the MPI and verifies demographic information including insurance information.  Obtains ICD9 codes at the point of scheduling and resolves medical necessity check issues; prints ABNs as indicated Utilizes proper channels of communication to resolve Departmental issues;  communicates to management potential issues.  Effectively communicates with colleagues, physicians, patients and outside contacts to assist in reaching Customer Service goals.  Works all cases posted in the Wait List; reviews and processes physician orders in a timely manner, following up and communicating with departments regarding pending orders.  Schedules efficiently in order to maintain Carroll Hospital Center within the top  5 hospital as reported on the MHA accounts receivable report.

\nInterpersonal skills (both written and oral) are necessary in order to communicate with dept. personnel, physicians, physician office staff, supervisors and other hospital depts. Must be at least 18 years old to witness patient/guarantor signatures.
